Kara J. Gauvin graduated with a B.S. Degree in Nursing from the University of Massachusetts-Dartmouth in 1985.  She has had the privilege of working in the specialty of Labor and Delivery as a Registered Nurse since 1989.   Kara has also had a love of photography for many years. Over the years she has taken a variety of courses to enhance her technical skills and unique composition style.     

Kara has combined her love of the Delivery Room with her passion for photography to provide families with once-in-a-lifetime photographs.  She will photograph your first family moments minutes after the delivery of your child or during your stay on the Maternity Unit.  She will enable your coach to actively and emotionally be involved in this very special time without the worry of taking pictures.

Kara’s years of experience in the Delivery Room has enabled her to witness the incredible first moments of motherhood.  Something she knows a lot about  - she also is the mother of five children.  She has first-hand experience, as a nurse and mother, to the feelings you will share with your new family.  Kara will capture those moments for you, for a lifetime of memories.

Kara lives with her husband and 5 children in Mattapoisett, MA.
